The Touch Iron Cloud nine review

I have ridiculously thick hair, and that’s no secret on this blog. My hair is a mane I’d go as far as to say that on a scale of thickness, it would rival Hagrid AND Hermione combined. Jokes aside, managing my thick hair is something I’ve had to get down to a fine art. Having a good straightener has always been a part of essentials.

I had been using a pair of GHDs that my friend kindly sent to me for years now. At Christmas 2022, I put The Cloud Nine straightener on my wishlist. I use my wishlist as a place to save links for things I want to buy for myself, but as my partner gets an email every time I update it – he decided to surprise me!

The Touch Iron Cloud Nine review

The first thing that struck me upon opening my Cloud Nine straightener was that the packaging was very luxurious. I’m not usually somebody who splashes out pricey things for myself – so receiving the Cloud Nine touch iron in such lovely packaging felt special.

I had originally put the wide iron on my wishlist but as it was sold out, my partner chose The Touch Iron. Boy did good! When I unboxed my Cloud Nine touch iron, I was initially a bit confused. I could not find an on or off switch anywhere! After a quick read though, it became clear that tapping the plates together twice in quick succession turned the straightener on.

I’m known as a clumsy person. I’m exactly the person who’d forget to turn their straighteners off and leave them to damage my furniture. Luckily, the touch iron has a fantastic feature that turns off after 30 seconds of inactivity. I think this is a fantastic feature!

The iron plates are hot within an instant of turning on the straightener which makes it excellent for people like me who are impatient and busy! Another fantastic feature is the ability to change between temperature between the two settings of 165 and 195 degrees Celcius. The temperature is changed by just quickly tapping the plates together.

My Cloud Nine touch iron was the giftset edition so it came with a protective heatguard and a heat-resistant style case. The heat guard is fantastic, especially as I have two young children and 3 pets wandering around the house. I’m always worried somebody will burn themselves whilst I’m leaving my straightener to cool – but the protective heat guard solves this problem. The style case is also a good edition; again it feels very luxurious and would suit people who travel a lot. The style case is also heat-resistant if you’re in a hurry!

GHD VS Cloud nine which is best?

Having used both, I can confidently say that they’re both fantastic. I tend to interchange the use of either styler depending on which is closest. However, I do think the Cloud Nine stylers make my hair feel nicer, and I love that I can control the heat with them.

Can you curl your hair with a Cloud Nine touch?

Curling with the Cloud Nine touch iron is so easy!

How long do cloud nine straighteners take to heat up?

The heat-up time varies between stylers but the Cloud Nine touch straighteners heat up in an instant.

Is Cloud Nine good for frizzy hair?

I have hair that tends to frizz – especially when it’s humid! I can say they’re fantastic for frizzy hair!

Would I recommend the cloud nine touch iron?

Without a doubt 100% yes! It’s clear to me that the people over at Cloud Nine have put lots of thought into this product.

A while ago I decided I wasn't going to post my children on here anymore. Then I lost confidence which means I don't even post myself much anymore.

But here's my dog Blue post-bath.

Hope you're all having a fab year so far.

Would you believe me if I said turning 30 wasn't a Would you believe me if I said turning 30 wasn't as scary as I thought?

Since my 29th birthday I've been panicking about turning 30. The media has women believing at 30 they're over the hill. And I somewhat believed it.

Turns out it was just another birthday, and I loved every minute of it. 💗
